Just had a conversation with an Irishman on the phone about his university’s music program, I let a “y’all” slip and here was our conversation:

Irishman: “You sound like you’re from Nashville?”

Me: “Um…..Ohh…nope, Kentucky, born and raised.”

Irishman: “Then you must be from Bowling Green.”

Me: “I did go to school there!”

Irishman: “I knew it, I took a class on Kentucky when I was at university, and I studied Bowling Green extensively and you have their exact dialect.”

So either this guy stalked me before he called, or he is the one person in Ireland that knows more about Kentucky than I do!
